“Expression is Necessary for Evolution.”

Emerson College

One of the reasons I am doing this blog is because of my own experience transitioning from high school to College filled with wonder and life lessons. My journey was compelling enough to resonate with me later in life with a mission to help other students pursue their own academic adventure. Looking back on the roller coaster of the college search, one thing is clear- I would not have likely discovered Emerson College if it weren’t for a good college counselor and good information. When choosing my first “college spotlight” to blog about, all roads led to the college which profoundly changed my life. I present you with Emerson College, a school that echoes the unique individual spirit in all of us.

EMERSON IN ONE MINUTE OR LESS

Emerson is a true enigma and also one of the best colleges for the study of communication and the arts. Although Emerson can be seen as small and exclusive, it has a vast independent vibe and makes a big bang when it comes to creative expression and the entertainment industry. It is a school that is tailored for a specific kind of student- one who is passionate with right brained talents big dreams. If you are seeking a major in say business or desire a large football stadium and a classic dorm setting, Emerson is not the school for you. However, if you are seeking to thrive in a creative, challenging environment- and like things fast paced and non-traditional, keep this college at the top of your list. The campus is home to WERS-FM, the first noncommercial station in Boston; the historic 1,200-seat Cutler Majestic Theatre; and Ploughshares, the award-winning literary journal for new writing. The college has always been on the cutting edge of technology supported by state-of-the-art facilities and a nationally renowned faculty. Student activities are a major part of the Emerson experience with almost any creative endeavor available through clubs and organizations orchestrated by students.

Their motto is: “Expression is necessary for evolution.” This sums up the kind of school Emerson is and also the kind of student who is seeking a truly unique college experience.
